Last night saw Martin Bamforth sweep the board at the annual fly tying competition with his nicely tied Klinkhammer. The competition is split into 2 parts. First the flies are judged by the panel, pictured below carefully scrutinizing the entries.

Then, after the winner of that section is announced the flies are ‘peer assessed’ i.e we all inspect each other’s flies and select a top 3 among ourselves Although the Klink is one of my favourites to tie I just couldn’t produce the goods on the night – seems a long time since I last won a trophy!
