Another successful annual dinner was held last night at the Wharfedale Inn at Arthington. Once again I decided to keep my fishing skills hidden firmly under my bushel throughout the year so as to avoid the embarrassment of having to go up and collect a trophy. Consequently the majority of the prizes were hoovered up by one of RFF’s big hitters, Kevin Smith, although Colin West did get a couple and one of our newer members Matthew Taiwo also walked away with a trophy this year.
It was good to catch up with everyone and I’m also conscious of the fact that there’s been very little fishing on this blog for quite some time so last night’s decision to hold a pike fishing mission to Esthwaite next month should get things moving again. Look forward, dear reader, to tales of abject winter misery in a boat punctuated by pike panic. Hopefully…
