Pike fishing Yorkshire – ideas please!

I fancy another pike fishing mission, I know Walton Hall can be good but anyone got anymore suggestions for where I can pike fly fish in Yorkshire? Preferably somewhere easy on the eye as well! Suggestions further afield also welcome!

Just wondering whether you managed to find a pike fly fishing venue? Raygill Lakes in Lothersdale might be worth a try: It has some decent pike (up to 37lb apparently) but might not fit your criteria of being easy on the eye. Have you thought about the Aire? Or the Lakes? When the winds eventually drop I might give Coniston a shot.

      Hi Matt

Aye, have had a go for pike at Raygill before and to be fair I think I’ll end up going back again, there are some big fish in there. Intrigued about Coniston though, never fished it before…does it have a reputation for having a good head of pike?

My local course fishing club (Hull and District Angling Association) have a good number of waters containing pike for only £38 a year. There are no rules against fly fishing, though there is no boat fishing and fishing is allowed from designated pegs only, so there isn’t always room for a back cast, but there are definitely places where there is room, and plenty of waters to go at. Thanks Dave. Which of your still waters and rivers have pike? I see some of your water is out near Selby, not too far from Leeds!
