A new dimension to Yorkshire Fly Fishing

In a moment of post Christmas madness I decided to buy myself a drone! A primary driver was the notion of filming myself out on my mountain bike up on the North Yorkshire Moors, Yorkshire Dales, Lake District hills etc but I also had some exciting ideas around filming fishing expeditions. In the end I opted for the DJI Mini 3 Pro because it had the ‘Follow Me’ function which I have yet to use but will be essential for me to put into action some of my plans. So far I’ve only managed a few flights around my local village and a quick sojourn to the River Wharfe but the potential is clear, I wish I’d bought one sooner.

Very quick test of my new drone

Top of my list is a trip to Suilven. Standing on that bealach, drone slowly rises from behind and captures me looking out to the wilderness of Fionn loch and Stac Polaidh, Cul Mor, Cul Beag etc. But really any of the hill lochs I visit are going to look fantastic with this new dimension, I literally cannot wait!

Hi, I was hoping you might be able to help. I am not an angler but my Dad enjoys fly fishing. He’s not done it for a while and I was looking to take him for his birthday. He’s still in Leeds which is where I’m from originally but I live abroad so anything we can do together is pretty special. I was hoping that you may be able not suggest any places that wold be good for us to fish and ideally someone who could take us. Any help would be really appreciated.

    Thanks,

    James
